TRADE AND MARKETING PotatoEurope 2014 homing in on handling boxes There will be live demonstrations on both days focusing on the storage of boxes. On 3 and 4 September of this year, a new PotatoEurope will be held again in the German town of Bockerode. This time, the organisation is in the hands of the German Landwirtschaft Geselschaft (DLG) and the potato organisation Unika. One of the main themes at the Potato Show is the handling of boxes in and around the storehouse. ow can we optimise all the processes that are necessary to load/unload, move and stack boxes in the storehouse? What practical tips and what modern techniques are available to the forklift drivers? These are only a few of the many questions to which the organisation of PotatoEurope 2014 hopes to find the answers during demonstrations at the show ground in Bockerode. Part of the answers are given in a specially-geared information centre at the show ground. The theme has been H split up in different subjects. These include the filling and storage of boxes, logistics and management systems, moving in and out of storage, and the layout of the storehouse. In a separate 600-square-metre area, live demonstrations will show on both days the various processes involved in the storage of boxes.
