In the year to December 2014 the average price of Dutch fries was US$1,096/tonne, 17% lower than the Canadian price, the highest of the big four suppliers. Belgian values are also lower than the prices of American and Canadian product, although the margin is smaller. It is a similar story in China with European processors making gains against US suppliers, although over the last two years the greatest gains have been made by Canada. The average Dutch price is the lowest of the four main suppliers with its average 2014 price 16% lower than the US price.
