NEWSLETTER Extension of an existing washing, grading and packaging line This bunker cluster plus feed conveyor was recently delivered to a Mallorca-based customer. The project constituted an extension of the existing washing, grading and inspection line. These bunkers are used as buffers for the packaging line. The well thought-out design of the bunkers and fall breakers, coupled with the restricted drop height at the conveyor switch-overs, prevent any undue damage to the product. DT Dijkstra’s vertical elevator conveyor facilitates an exceptionally compact lay-out with minimal use of floor space. Bunker and grading installation in Portugal DT Dijkstra has recently commissioned an installation for the grading, inspecting and buffering of potatoes. The grading and bunker elements were installed separately from one another to prevent any undue formation of dust in the packaging area. In addition, the several conveyors have been equipped with weighing cells to enable continuous measuring of product volumes. Thanks to the logistical solution, which features mobile feed conveyors, the customer can make optimum and efficient use of the various bunkers.
