TRADE AND MARKET I NG Agrico invests in quality evaluation 7 1 After scanning the QR code of the sample, the line automatically sets the desired parameters. After weighing the gross sample, the first step is that the seed potatoes are dry-cleaned with brushes. Table potatoes are cleaned wet. 2 After taking a photo of the cleaned sample, an employee inspects the tubers for external defects. Immediately after this, the tare percentage is determined. After each step in the line, a picture is automatically taken of the sample, which is then stored in the information and management system. 3 All tubers are counted and separated out in order to subsequently determine the sizes. 4 With a 3D camera, the line determines the size of a lot. 5 The machine then selects a hundred tubers of the desired sizes that are then examined for vitality in the climate chamber. The machine prints a unique QR code that allows the results to be linked to the right lot. 6 After washing the potatoes, the washed sample is also inspected and immediately linked to the lot. 10 7 After the tubers have been scraped, the underwater weight is fully-automatically determined. 8 In order to determine the internal quality and the subcutaneous damage, all tubers are cut to ensure a reliable image. 9 The three climate units are hot and humid so as to get a good picture of the possible problems of up to 12,000 samples. After four to eight weeks, the germination capacity, the germination length, the number of sprouts per tuber and any rotten tubers in a lot are evaluated. 10 The sprouted potatoes are also photographed and assessed with a camera to exclude random outcomes as much as possible.
